Best Places to Trick-Or-Treat in the Peninsula

Red Tricycle rounded up some of the best places to trick-or-treat, sure to please your wicked witches of the west (and east, and south, and north)!

Burlingame (Cabrillo Avenue)
Burlingame offers sweet trick-or-treating with elaborate decorations and basically no stairs, so even the little ones can load up without pause. Parking isn’t overly challenging, but it’s also right on the Caltrain line (Broadway Station) if you want to just go for the gold star and add a train ride into the mix.

Millbrae (Taylor Street)
This tree-lined street is filled with family homes nicely clustered together. It gets a bit more crowded than some of the other spots on the Peninsula but it’s way worth it. There are plenty of decorations, and the neighborhood closes off the block to cars so that the hordes of kids can run around working out their candy buzz.

Brisbane

Brisbane comes to life on Halloween night like no other. This is one of the greatest spots in the Bay Area for Halloween splendor. Full of town pride, houses all over this village go all out. Even the local dentist hands out goodies– toothbrushes! it’s hard to believe you are less than 20 minutes from the heart of downtown San Francisco. With hundreds of houses just near downtown alone to hit up, this is a guaranteed haul for your candy loving crew!

Downtown Los Altos
Rather spend the night alone in a haunted house than deal with a sugar-crashing toddler at 8pm?  Bring the little ones over to downtown Los Altos from 2-4 p.m where they can trick-or-treat the merchants and still be home in time for supper!

San Carlos (Eucalyptus St.)
This wonderful section of San Carlos where you can trick-or-treat without all the crowds, but still score big in the candy department.

Today Sotheby’s Realty Partners With Search Start-Up Real Scout

Inman news just announced ithe partnership between RealScout, a 2-year-old startup that allows real estate agents to brand its collaborative search platform and Today Sotheby’s International Real Estate.

The Mountain View, California-based firm launched its search platform to agents in the San Francisco Bay Area last year. By giving agents the ability to brand its search platform, RealScout helps them compete with high-tech search portals like Zillow and Trulia in the online search arena, said RealScout CEO Andrew Flachner.

RealScout, which is now available to brokers and agents sold 100 RealScout agent licenses to San Carlos, California-based Today Sotheby’s International Realty. By early winter, every agent at Today Sotheby’s International Realty will have their own agent website powered by Gabriels Technology Solutions and search provided by Real Scout.

“The brokerage deals are not geographically exclusive,” Flachner said.

RealScout is not available to every consumer right off the bat. Typically, agents with a RealScout account invite consumers to use the platform, Flachner said. Consumers can also access the platform from a RealScout partner agent or broker’s website.

RealScout doesn’t sell a white-labeled version of its product to agents and brokers because the firm has found that consumers think they just have access to a limited set of listings when they’re on an agent or broker’s own site, Flachner said. The RealScout logo and site ensures that consumers understand they have access to all of that market’s listings, he said.

“We’re focused on helping agents convert active homebuyers into clients,” Flachner said. The brokerage-level product is a way for brokers to demonstrate value by giving agents technology that helps them convert leads into clients, he said.

Flachner says that RealScout has no interest in generating leads or becoming a consumer brand, but remains focused on helping agents and brokers’ clients find the best home for them.

RealScout brought on realtor.com’s former head of mobile, Duke Fan, as vice president of product in July.
